A big opps day......

Afternoon Stampers,
Well as the heading states, is there a time not to create, well i say yes, as you can see by today's attempt to create something, and it didn't go well from the start to the end, the design was for this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge, what the heck i will still submit it.

well you decide should i have quit while i was ahead.
anyway we all can't be brilliant everyday, i blame the weather teasing us like it has for the past few days with beautiful days, now we have rain yes rain again.

Xmas Box Set

Evening Stampers,

Well after a day of trying to get to my creating table (dining table), i finally got there, between getting ready for the G.S.T change over, if you have anything to do with business books, you will know how much of a headache this is going to be for the first month or so.

Well when i did get to sit down with my visiting sister (from Auckland) we managed to create a card or two.

I did another box set, this time with a Xmas theme, it took me a while to complete this very simple box, as i found that in order to include the envelopes as well, the box needed abit of adjustment. and after several gos i got it right, then i could move on to the cards to match.

The cards are all using the same DSP, colours and papers.

Here is the box, and as usual with being in a hurry to complete this it is not straight, but this seems to be my trademark

And here are the matching cards to go with the box

The idea came from either a blog or splitcoasters, sorry i cannot remember where or who it was, and the picture does not have a watermark

Cards/Paper:  Whisper White, Baja Breeze Not Quite Navy
 Stamps:  Snow Swirled, Snow Burst.
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy.
Other:  White Ribbon, SU Punches,  Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, White Gel Pen

Vintage Birthday.....

Morning Stampers,

Well i don't believe it we had a whole day yesterday without rain, i even got two load of washing dry out on the line, oh my gosh this is well worth celebrating. It was a great weekend, it felt good to have my son back home, when he is older i can let him go (i hope), but at the moment with him being only 16 home is where he should to be

Over the weekend i had a friend who had a birthday, i won't mention names as she might not have got her card yet, and i know she doesn't blog hop often due to her very busy life, so i think I'm fairly safe.

Alot of the times I'm limited in my creativity as i don't have lot of ribbons, so if i have a card to make and it involves ribbons, i am limited to a few colour choices.
As i have now got the pastels i will have to experiment with these and plain white ribbons and see what i can come up with and hopefully widen my choices, Does anyone have any good ideas about colouring ribbons

Then after making this card i have realised that it suits the new Just add ink challenge this week. so i will be submitting this there.

Without further ado here is it

Recycle or Re-use.....

Afternoon Stampers,

Well i still only feels like it is morning, but due to daylight saving starting over night our clocks have gone foward an hour, this always takes a day or two to get use to.

While i was blog surfing this morning i found this really great idea over at Techno Stamper, it was to recycle or to re-use an item to create something new. I knew Straight away that i had the perfect item i could use and give this a go.

I used an idea from a class project that the wonderful Jacque had shown us. i knew i had an extra frame there to have another go at this, so i have re-used this item

here is the original item...... a acrylic upright photo frame from a $2 store, opps sorry for the reflections.

Here it is in it's new form. A fancy post-it note-holder complete with a pen holder

The frame now sits upside down, leaning on the which was once the bottom support

Poker Card

Evening Stampers,

Well he is back.... My son arrived home last night to freezing temps, after spending 5 weeks in oz with daily temps of 30oC and above, so boy he felt the cold especially as he was only wearing a short sleeved business shirt and his trusty jeans.

I have finally managed to get hold of his birthday card long enough to take a photo of it. As this was his Sweet sixteenth, i wanted something a little bit special.

He uses the name Agent Spades when gaming and he enjoys playing poker, so i combined these in his card, which i must say went down a treat.

This card only uses a few Stampin Up products, the sweet treat cup and the card stock. the rest of the card is using single stamps, and some computer printed images.

I used the Versamark and a single Spade stamp to create the background, the only thing he was disappointed with was the fact the sweet treat cup wasn't filled with lollies, but i fixed that problem by sending along with this card a couple of boxes of his favourite fudge

His and Hers....Mojo Monday #157

Morning Stampers,

With this weather what else there to do but create, so i have given the challenge over at Mojo Monday a go

Here is this week's sketch, so pop on over and have a play

This time i had a idea in mind straight away.
In fact i had to laugh, my sister Narelle (who is a demonstrator) rung this morning and we shared our submissions for this challenge over the phone, and she told me her colour scheme, and little did we realize we have used the exact same colours and papers. but luckly the cards are totally different. go on over and have a look at her blog .

Here is my creation, and i have been dying to use the Parisian breeze DSP papers, they are so pretty, which unfortunately they have now retired, so they will be brought out for special occasions.

As the title says, i have made two cards using this design, one for the boys and one for the gals. this one is for the boys, keeping it plain.

This is the one for the gals, it has a little bit of bling in the form of Dazzling diamonds and crystal brads , the Bling hasn't shown up very well, but i have put it in the centre and around the edge of the scallop centre piece.

Card/Paper:  Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White,  DSP Parisian Breeze*
Stamps:  Circle Circus
Ink:  Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze.
Other: SU Punches, SU Ribbon, Dimensionals, SU Brads, Dazzling Diamonds, Mat Pack

SSSC #86 ....Take 2

Afternoon Stampers,

Well that last card annoyed me to the point it never made the re-do pile, i just sat back down and gave it another go,
This time i'm a little bit happier, and used water colouring to colour the flowers, and copic markers to outline the flowers.

Details:  these are the same for the previous post
This time i used SU markers and i distressed the edges of the circles

SSSC #86

Morning Stampers,

Boy i am so over this rain, surely someone forgot to tell the weather gods that spring is here and my son is rubbing it in by complaining about the heat over where he is.

Well i had a chance to do a spot of creating, so i found this really great challenge over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, click here to go and have a play yourself

Here is the Challenge this week

Once again i went with the flow, i didn't have anything in mind for this challenge, i just put things together, and im not too happy with the image in the middle. But i really like the colours. i think this is one for the re-do pile

Many Happy returns...

Morning Stampers,

Wow what a weekend.

Hubby and i got away for a well earned break, while our daughter was out at a scout camping competition, only to return to find  mess everywhere.
We managed to miss the big storm that ripped through on Saturday night. Our Daughter has a blast  at camp in the middle of it all, she says it was wild, some troops lost tents, others were very shaken, and going by the mess the storm left behind im sure they were scared, away from parents out in the wild braving it in tents.

Any way as you can imagine i didn't get any creating done, But late last week i had been busy creating cards for the family members that have had birthdays in the past few days.

One of which i will have to post next week, as i forgot to take a photo before i sent it off to my son, yipee he will be home at the end of this week. Happy sweet 16th My darling son. I miss you. He has been gone since early August. Yesterday was a strange day knowing it was his birthday and him not being home to share it with us,
Then today is my Niece's 9th birthday, so another big happy birthday goes out to Alexandra, i will post her card later on today as i just have to add a few finishing touches to it.

Until later, see you

Bud Basics Box Set

Afternoon stampers,

Nearly every morning while having my breakfast i take the time to blog surf, this is my calm before the storm moment each day.I'm lucky as with having teens i can sit back while they get themselves ready for the day ahead.

So yesterday morning while blog surfing one of my favourite blogs, i came across this wonderful and easy to make Pizza box.

So a big thanks to Bron and her great Pizza box,  this stirred up my creative juices (which i have been lacking), so here i sat until almost lunch time in my pj's, when i was suposed to be doing the usual housework. so go on over to her fantastic site and have a look at her pizza box.

I turned mine in to a colorful box set, which i might do a few of, what a great idea for a xmas present, also to have on hand for the last minute almost forgotten about gift.

Here is my attempt at the box, complete with the belly band, Bron found this template over at Maria Pobre, a demonstrator based in Guam's blog

Here are the cards i made to go in the box, i decided to use the same layout and just change the colors used for each card

Stamps:  Short & Sweet, Bud Basics*
Ink:  Basic Black, Rick Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Loverly Lilac*

Phew what a day.......

Morning Stampers,

Well after the day i had yesterday i didn't even get to go into my craft room, let alone do anything constructive.
It was a mix of wrapping paper, courier tickets, cellotape, and birthday cake, not forgetting the scouts (daughter attends). so today i will be posting another one of my past punch art cards

Yesterday my husband, which was his birthday so happy birthday to my darling man, and i had a go at putting our latest import item on the Trade me daily deals, with the sales keeping us busy but not as busy as we would have liked. To have a look, search under our Trade me name cas28, as the daily deals end this morning but we are going to carry on the sale as normal listings.

This card was created for the Just add ink Blog, as that week it was a colour challenge, As you can see my sponging needed a bit of work back then.  It is neat to look back over past cards and see how far one has progressed

Card:  Pink Passion, So Saffron, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip

Just for him....

Morning Stampers,

Well i have such quiet in my house, everyone has gone for the day and it is only 7.30am, if only i wasn't so busy i could go back to bed and relax.

But i thought i would take this opportunity and show you all the card i made for my husbands up coming birthday, i know he doesn't look on here unless i want to show him something, so i'm safe putting this up. i have also created a card for my son's birthday but he is currently over in oz, i know he looks here to see what i have been up to, so i wont post that until he has it in his hot little hands

The card base was CASEd from some where but sorry i can't remember where, if it is yours let me know and i will let everyone else know.  i have changed the entire layout it is just the picture that is slightly similar.

I used a torn piece of post it notes to make the hills, and a 1 3/4 punched circle to make the sun, but i'm not too happy with the free hand drawn birds,

Card:  Baja Breeze, Not Quiet navy, Whisper White
Stamps:  Pocket Silhouettes, Short & Sweet.
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Not Quiet Navy
Other:  SU 1 3/4 Round Punch, Post it Notes, Scallop Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Sponges

Horray for punch art

Afternoon, stampers,

Today is such a horrible day here i just can't get my head around to do any creating............. i am sooo over this rain

Today i have another one of my punch art creations to show you.

These cards were designed for Jacque's amazing  daughters after they complete in the cheer leading comp held in Australia a few moths ago,  as they won i thought i would make then each a little congrats card,  i copied their uniforms from the video Jacque posted on her blog.

The Cheer leader was from a design i saw on an Amercian demonstrators blog, the wonderful Dawn Olchefske.

The cheer leaders were made using all SU punches

The first xmas card of the rank

Afternoon Stampers,

Well the mojo has slightly returned,
so i gave this challenge a go, it is the new challenge over at Techno Stamper

So decided to give an xmas card a go, this is the first one for the year.

I used a retired color and also Ski Slope retired DSP paper. For the glittery brads, i added a glue dot to the top of the brad and then dipped in dazzling Diamonds, which doesn't show very well in the photo, Also a bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the ornaments, again which doesn't show up very well.

Card/Paper:  Kiwi Kiss (retired), Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP (retired)
Stamp:  Tree Trimmings, Best Yet
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Choc Chip

Fairy friends

Evening stampers,

Hope you all had a great start to the new week ahead. Mine was one of those days where there was enough hours in the day, only to start all over again tomorrow.

At the moment my mind is completely blank when it comes to creating, which isn't good news with a busy last quarter of the year just starting.

I have stated once before i really hate cutting out and absolutly love the SU punches, so i always have alot of fun creating punch art, which i will show case over the next few days if my creating mojo doesn't return,

which i can only put down to being busy setting up another new business along side of our current business.

Without further ado here is a card i created for a very special friends birthday earlier this year. This was made using only SU punches, mainly the oval and round punches plus a few others. Im sorry i cannot remember where this design came from, if it is your's let me know and i will tell everybody and give you the credit this design needs

Alot to be thankful for

Evening Stampers,

I just want to start of by saying that my thoughts and well wishes are with the families and the people of  the Canterbury region after the earthquake that hit there yesterday morning.
We are thankful to hear that there was no loss of life and next to no major injuries were reported.

Here in New Zealand it was Fathers day, a day in which we give thanks to the wonderful father or father figures in our lives. I am Lucky i have a dad and a fantastic step-dad.
To the families in the Canterbury region, fathers day has an extra special reason to be thankful, just being together and safe counts for more than those broken material items.

In our house hold we find the giving of gifts not necessary, just being thankful is enough for this family.

So i made a few Fathers Day's cards, but forgot to take photos except of the one i gave my husband from my children.

Card:  Soft Suede, Basic Black
Stamp:  Pocket Silhouette, Single saying Stamp
Ink:   Versamark, Whisper White
Other:  Matt pack and paper piercer

Fathers Day always starts off a very busy end of year for birthdays and celebrations. This month alone i have two of my family and many others to produce cards for. So it is going to be a very busy creating time for me

It's Here...It's here, Tell everyone

Morning Stampers,

The night before last I surprised my favorite demonstrator, the one and only Jacque Pedersen and turned up at her place in Auckland and attended her ***new catalogue*** launch party. If you haven't seen one yet contact your demonstrator and ask to purchase one. This is one purchase you won't push aside for quiet a while yet. I love it my wish list grows every time i look at my copy

It was a fun and entertaining night. We got to play with a few new items now available and we also made a couple of cards using some of these wonderful new items,

Using the new French Filigree background stamp and the new Greenhouse Gala DSP we made this card. I am finding this DSP growing on me, at first look i really didn't like it, but as normal the more i see it used the more i am liking it.
