back up and running......

Afternoon stampers.

Yay me.........
Thanks to my son i am now back up and running, he managed to re-install all of my hard drive so now im away again.

As i said in my last post i had to do a birthday card.
This card is for an uncle of mine who is turning 60, and as always i find male cards very hard to do, i have found less is best.
But i did have to laugh while making this, in the past i used to moan if i had to make a male themed card, as i didn't have any stamps for the purpose really, so i brought the stamp set " Lovely as a tree", as this is a great stamp set for male themed cards.
But as you will see i didn't even use this set for this card.

I am really pleased how this turned out, as out of all of the colour combos you can use i would have to say this combo is my favourite.

What the camera does not pick up is the fact that i used Crystal effects on this card,
i used it in the centres of the round background stamps, on every other line of the DSP, and also on the 60 to highlight the number.
On the inside (opps forgot to take photo) i placed a piece of the matching DSP along the bottom to tie in the front of this card.

i almost forgot to post this today as i have been having fun over at the new exciting site of Andrea Walford
Click on the blinky on the side for Paper crafters Library, there is so much info on this site for beginners and for experienced crafters

Want more inspirations or ideas

Afternoon stampers.

It has been a little while between posts, but my home computer has decided to go on a little holiday of it's own.

I have been popping over to an American demonstrators web site for quite a while now,
her name is Andrea Walford,
To take a look at her blog, click on her name in the blogs i follow below, go on over and have a look at her fantastic creations.

Andrea has set up this amazing new site
www.papercrafterslibrary.com
filled with ideas, forums, gallerys and videos galore to inspire us into using all of those long forgotten about tools, along with some great creations to CASE.

The site does cost a monthly fee to join, but after spending the past two hours there and cruising through the videos, i feel that this is one site not to miss out on.

Just click on the badge on the left hand side bar and go and have a look for yourselves.

Now to stampin, as i said my home computer has been playing up, so i will have to load my camera here on my office computer so i can upload my new creation.

Until then have fun and enjoy the rest of the holidays if you are lucky enough to be still enjoying it.

A Very Clever Hubby.....

Afternoon stampers.

Today's post is a creative one but not stamping.

My husband only had a few days off from the business but doesn't like to sit still.

We wanted a new bed and drawers for our daughter, and after pricing up these he decided to have a go and make something himself for her.

And as you can see the end results are great.
He made a loft bed complete with drawers underneath and a shelf for her stereo.
All he started with was her bed base.
After this photo was taken, it was varnished and then dismantled and re-set up in her room.
We also did the rest of her room up, as her favourite colour is green, we got green curtains, pillows and we even painted the old little set of drawers green....which you can see behind the bed drying out in the sun.

We did all of this while she was away at the 19th Adventure scout jamboree, held out at Mystery Creek, Hamilton. There were 4000 scouts out there from all over the world.

When she came home and saw all that we did she cried.... so we guess it was a hit.

She had a great time at camp, but not as good as it could have been, as she broke her wrist on the first day at the first activity. the Dr's told her from here on in all she could do was stay there but not do anything else....let me tell you they don't know my daughter.
There were only a couple of activities that she had to miss out on like rock climbing.
We found out that plastic bags and duck tape fixes most things.
